Center for Science, Health and Wellness, Norwalk Community College

Completed 2012

Norwalk, Connecticut

The completion of the Center for Science, Health, and Wellness marks a significant milestone for Norwalk Community College (NCC), benefiting faculty, students, and the surrounding community. Established in 1961, NCC is the second largest college in the Connecticut Community College System and a national model for workforce training. The Center, funded by both public and private sources and in collaboration with three local hospitals, integrates NCC's science, nursing, and allied health programs. Part of NCC's West Campus Development, the project includes a new 50,000 GSF facility, upgrades to adjacent buildings, future expansion sites, and new entry drive and landscaped courtyards. Melida, Principal of M Marte Studio, worked with Mitchell Giurgola to renovate this flagship facility, that houses distinct programs on separate floors, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and interdepartmental education.
